Lego City #1

The photographs above show the installation during the day and night loops of the Mumbai video. Continuing the earlier collaborative concept from Tobari no Akari, there is a play between real shadows, projected mirror images and projected shadows. Each pin of light is a real window from the footage I took in India. Eventually I will use all 250 pieces in the installation, and have about 6-10 artists arrange the city without any instructions or guidance. In this way it will create an organic and unplanned arrangement, which I can then use to represent a fantastical Mumbai.

The concept also connects with my earlier experimentation with City Memories, since lego remind me of my childhood. Here's a picture of me as a kid with lego.
